MTF: Gluten Free Tahini Cookies

Hi Friends,

It's Friday...yipee!

It's been a busy start to the Month, and so today I'm sharing with you a repeat (reEAT more like it) recipe for MacroTreat Friday!

MTF: Gluten Free Macrobiotic Tahini Cookies

I made THIS RECIPE that I posted awhile ago...but I used tahini in place of the sunflower seed butter. Super yum! Tahini almost tastes like peanut butter. Truth.

To make them gluten free, use gf oat flour. I used all oat flour, and no oat flakes this time, and these cookies were way to easy to make (mere minutes), and even easier to eat!

I put a few dark chocolate chips in some, and left some plain.

They go perfect with a chai tea, and a reading nook in the sun! yum <3

Happy happy day, friends!

Dinner Party Delights

 Hey Guys,

The focus of this week's Thursday Things are FRIENDS!
And enjoying simple meals with them :)

Here's a few quick shots from the dinner party last night.

You can see my plate because of the rice cake, hahaha.
(once my belly is doing great, I will definitely indulge in some good quality bread)
Lemon slices for the soup, cute bird lemon squeezer from Japan, and tahini sauce for the veggies.

3 kinds of Sourdough Bread  (wholegrain, baguette, & potato bread)

French Lentil Stew(has parsnip, celery, carrots, ginger & parsley in it).

Roasted Veggies

Kabocha, Fennel, Japanese Sweet Potato, & Yellow Beets

Tahini Custard (like a kanten, made with apples, raisins & tahini)

Before
After! I garnished these with a few raisins before serving.

* To make this mouth watering custard, please read Aveline Kushi's book "Complete Guide to Macrobiotic Cooking." It is simple, tastes decadent, and received great reviews from my guests!

*French Lentil Stew Recipe coming soon!

* And, a guest post tomorrow!

Have a lovely thursday, dainty piglets β™₯β™₯β™₯

Snack attack.

Fell in love with these beauties the other day:

Dark chocolate baking discs filled with:
Artisana's Cashini butter (cashew + tahini).
Best kind of sandwich, if you ask me!
What have you been snacking on lately?

Tahini Custard

I made a most delicious dessert from my new favourite cookbook "The Macrobiotic Guide to Cooking"
(I've added it to my amazon store. Check out the link!)
Tahini Custard
from Aveline Kushi's "Macrobiotic Guide to Cooking"
This dessert requires only a few ingredients:
  • apples
  • tahini
  • raisins
  • a bar of agar agar
  • some water
  • some apple juice
I made a kanten following the usual method, but used apples and tahini and raisins instead of strawberries.
Then you let it set, blend it up, let it set again, and voila! A creamy, delicious, nutty dessert. Not too sweet, but really creamy. To make a less sweet dessert, you can use less apple juice and more water...but I think it was perfect how it is! (For full directions, please check out the book!)
I love agar-agar:
Cooking away:
Yummy yummy!

Have you ever cooked with agar-agar?
Do you like custards?
