This week's Thursday Things is all about the neti pot.
If you're wondering WHAT'S A NETI POT?
Then do some reading here:
This photo is from Wikipedia, but it is the very same once I have.
As part of our yoga training, we are encouraged to try some Traditional Yogic / Indian cleansing techniques.
I've heard about neti pots before, but have never really gotten on the bandwagon. I don't know, call me crazy, but pouring water up your nose didn't really attract me ;)
But, the past two days, in the spirit of trying new things, I decided to go for it. And besides the package says it's great for aiding the immune system, cleansing viruses and pollens from the sinuses etc. So, why not give it a shot?
I was quite pleasantly surprised. Afterwards I definitely felt I was able to breathe easier --- and I didn't even feel congested before trying it. You can buy a neti pot at any pharmacy here, and you can get plastic or ceramic ones.
T also tried it out. He suffers from pretty bad allergies, and he found this helped immensely.
I found it much easier to use than I was expecting. I just had to remember to breathe through my mouth.
Of course, I'm not a doctor or trained in any way, i'm just reporting my own experience. So if you're interested in trying this out, check with your doctor first, and do your own research!
Have you ever tried a Neti Pot?
Do you have any tips?
